Austin Elmo Stone does not exist. He is a figment of my imagination, much like most of the writing on this website. I hope you will forgive me for hiding behind this pseudonym. I find the written word to be a great release. It’s a place I can hide or escape. It’s a place I can pour out my heart or face my demons. It’s a place where I can find solace. It’s a place I can express myself with as much or little explanation as I want.

Mostly Made Up contains the ramblings of me, the anonymous author. I do not claim to be a great writer, or even a good writer. However, this is my passion and I thought it would be helpful to explain why I write.

For the past few years a group of friends and I have been meeting together to share our short stories. It’s a meeting of like minded people who trust each other implicitly. I’ve never shared my stories with anyone outside that group. Until now.

Some of the stories are pure fiction whereas others contain elements of truth. The most notable examples of my non-fiction writing is the “Endings” series. Let’s be honest, it’s pretty terrible. However, it’s notable because it’s the first time I used writing as self-medication. I was very young when I wrote it. Don’t judge me too harshly.

Dear reader, welcome to Mostly Made Up. I don’t know how you found this website – I didn’t really expect anyone to stumble upon it. I hope you find it enjoyable and I thank you for allowing me this small indulgence.
